With the beginning of the war, the demand for steel structures collapsed due to the suspension of construction works and interruptions in the supply of products. In addition, after the destruction of Azovstal and Ilyich Iron and Steel Works, the building materials market faced a shortage of rolled steel. Later, this problem was solved by importing.

The construction of residential buildings increased by 16.8%, non-residential buildings – by 19.8%, and engineering structures – by 3.1%.

The highest growth rates of completed construction works over the year were observed in Ternopil (37.3%), Vinnytsia (20.1%) and Cherkasy (17.6%) regions. Chernivtsi (-38.9%), Zakarpattia (-26.1%) and Kirovohrad (-22.3%) regions showed the greatest decline.
